Wii had a great weekend.

Matt and Ed were addicted to the Wii Sports Resort videogame.

Here they are demonstrating how to canoe in your living room.

Alligator Point Beach at sunset.

I thought this one was sweet.
Dale and Ed came for a visit last weekend. It was an amazingly relaxing weekend filled with tons of fun, tasty food, beach and Wii Sports Resort.

Animal Kingdom

Saturday we went to Animal Kingdom. We had lunch at the Yak and Yeti, which is probably one of my favorite Disney restaurants. They have a drink called the Glacier water, it's just Sprite, coconut syrup and Blue Curaco that turns the water blue. This drink is incredibly refreshing. We got 2 in to-go cups to carry around the park after our delicious meal of lettuce wraps and fried rice. Matt LOVES the lettuce wraps. This place is a MUST anytime we're in Animal Kingdom.

We got up close and personal with giraffe, saw the tigers taking their afternoon dips in the pool, we rode Everest and enjoyed watching Nemo's musical show. It was an amazing day.

DisneyQuest

Last weekend we went to Orlando. We renewed our season passes and added a little extra. That extra gives us access to Disney's indoor amusement park, DisneyQuest. This place is really fun. There are 5 floors of arcade games, interactive games, and even some bumper cars. It's open pretty late so we have time to make a quick visit whenever we get in town on Friday night.

After some tasty pizza at Wolfgang Puck Express we headed to the arcade to tackle some old school PacMan. Matt is amazing at this game. I ususally have to pull him away so we can try something else.

Thoughts...

I need to blog about a ton of life events, but when I'm home and there are meals to make and eat, exercise to be done, movies to be watched, dogs to be petted, rooms to be cleaned, husband to spend time with.....well, blogging just falls by the wayside.

Thoughts for today:

1. I am seriously wanting some sushi today. Preferably from Lucy Ho's - I love the sushi there.

2. I hate the smell of mothballs and I hate the smell of cat pee. How do we keep our neighbors cats off our porch? I don't have the heart to catch them and take them to the shelter. This is some one's pet! (But at the same time, I'm pretty sure FL frowns on people leaving their cats outdoors. In fact, if you adopt a kitty from a shelter you have to promise it will be an indoor cat...but I digress)...What do I do to keep them from peeing on my porch and fence and stinking the place up!?!

3. This weekend I sewed pillowcases to bright up our couch pillows and bring in some color. I am SO proud of myself. The covers fit snugly and look great on the furniture.

4. I'm ready for football season to begin. I'm ready for my dad's chili and grilled cheese. I'm ready for Lindy's hot wings and ANY college football game on the big screen with surround sound.

5. We are clipping Wil's nails today. He hates it. We've discovered that if you feed him treats during the nail clipping he could care less what you do with his paws. I have some treats and cheese with his name on them tonight.

6. Going out of town this weekend. We're taking a cruise in October which should be awesome, but it's really hard to put off your big vacation until after the summer. I am SO ready to get out of town this weekend. Our mini-vacations are so much fun.

7. Matt's parents, Marg and Tyson are coming down for a visit next weekend. I have a lot of "tweaking" to do around the house to prepare for the visit. I've kept it pretty clean, but since I've been sewing, it looks likes a spool of white thread threw up in my guest room/sewing room.

8. Hoping to have some fun with my camera on this weekend escape. I'm going to play with lenses and try to get some artistic shots. Making memories, people!

9. Making chili tonight. Mine is a modified version of my dad's. It tastes like home.

10. SO looking forward to our trip home over labor day weekend. I am having some serious homesick moments. Miss my parents, grandparents and Andrea. Looking forward to just being in Florence with family. (Last trip home was in June for my class reunion - sheesh! WAY too long)

11. I have a picture from an old Geico ad that we got in a mailer a few years ago hanging in my office. It's got a picture of a blue jay sitting in front of this ancient computer and says, "So easy, a Blue Jay can do it" - I forgot I had it and saw it today and started laughing.

12. I don't really have anything else to add, I just thought 12 was a good number to end this list.

Happy weekend to ALL!!!

**Update** I got sushi for lunch from Publix with Matt. We shared a tray and it was divine!

Martin Family Reunion

Sunset on the pond

The 2nd weekend in July (nearly a month ago I know, sorry- I'm way behind) we went to Headland to celebrate the Martin Family Reunion with Matt's family. It was great to get to visit with everyone and have some fun on the farm. Matt's family still owns a lot of land down there so we had a lot of fun places to explore and play.

Marg and Sarah chatting

Doug and Mary Beth's puppy, Bella, she was adorable and such a good dog.

Martin and Ed shooting targets

Matt enjoyed throwing them.

The clan at the reunion...it's a big group and I feel like nearly half were unable to come.

It was a lot of fun and relaxing to get to spend some time with family. Sorry I'm so behind on posts lately. I never seem to have time to even send emails from home anymore!

p.s. only 32 days til Bama and AU football begins!! Our FAVORITE time of year.
