I'm trying to enjoy my days of being home with no employment. I know a job will come soon enough and then I'll wish I could be home doing exactly what I'm doing now. But, I can't help but feel a little guilty about not having a job. Matt has been wonderfully supportive. It wasn't easy for him to let go and trust that we'd be fine. Moving me down here was certainly a leap of faith into the deep end of a pool.
So now I'm home with Stevie and Wil. They LOVE having me home all the time. They curl up next to me on the couch, beg for treats when I'm fixing my lunch (and usually get them), and just generally seem to bask in my constant attention. Their favorite sleeping perch is on the top of the loveseat in front of the living room window. I guess so they have a good warm place to nap and have a good view of the sidewalk outside in case they need to bark at someone (everyone.)
I'm enjoying apartment life again. We've been utilizing the workout room and the pool. Although I have to pay for laundry now, it's nice to get all of my loads of laundry done in the time it took to do only one at home since I have 6 washers and 6 dryers to choose from.
Tampa is a fun city. It has lots of shopping and fun restaurants. We're enjoying exploring new places and finding new favorites. We've found a pretty tasty sushi restaurant and are looking forward to discovering more places when friends come into town (Yay Vander and Suzy!) It's already feeling like summer down here, and has felt this way for the past few months. I've definitely got to increase my shorts wardrobe (thanks, Momma!) and tank top wardrobe. I'm wearing skirts more than I ever did before because it's so hot outside.
On the job front I've got some good leads, a Dean of a College of Education here in Tampa called last week and wants to meet with me about a job. She's out of town until June, so I'm waiting a few weeks for that. The job I've had 2 interviews for (both went extremely well) will be making a decision next week so please be praying for that. I couldn't have asked for better interviews so I just hope I made a good impression on the folks I talked to. I'm doing my best not to worry about it too much and to leave it all up to God. His plan is best anyway. :-)
I'll be posting pictures soon of my trip home to Alabama. A week at home was WONDERFUL. I had time to visit with everyone and never felt like I was rushed. I really felt like I was able to spend quality time with BOTH my families. The only thing that would have made it better is if Matt could have been there with me. He's working extremely hard and making GREAT impressions at work. I'm so proud of him.
Happy Wednesday to all y'all out there! The countdown is on to the weekend!!
